Giving Back

We believe in supporting our local community by becoming directly involved in the efforts of non-profit organizations. You may find us leading a Girl Scout troop or walking to raise awareness of Breast Cancer. We have raised almost $5000 dollars this year in support of Breast Cancer Research. Helping locally is a concrete way for us to support our neighbors and the community as a whole.

Girl Scouts - Building courage, confidence, and character in girls

Girl Scout troops are led by volunteers, usually parents or relatives of the girls in a troop. A popular ad from the Northwest Georgia council says "You don't have to have a girl to lead, just to have been one" . Many people do not realize that without volunteers, troops cannot form or continue to exist. Lee began leading a troop last year and has had an amazing time with her brownie troop. Free classes and also subsidized training in skills such as First Aid/CPR make Girl Scouting a great source of learning opportunities as well. The Girl Scout Council of Northwest Georgia's web site has more information about scouting for parents, girls, and potential volunteers.
